The project is taking place in Karakallio, Espoo – a suburb near Leppävaara with about 5 500 inhabitants. The buildings in the area consist mainly of apartment blocks that are constructed between 1960–1990. The construction over the next few years will increase the population of the district by approximately one thousand.
You can easily get to the area by public transportation or by car. It’s a short train ride from Helsinki centre to the nearby Leppävaara train station, from where it takes only about 10 minutes to get to Karakallio by bus. By car, the travel time is under 30 minutes from Helsinki centre.
